Consultation – Free (15-20 minutes)
I want to make sure we are a good fit, and that I would have the skills needed for your particular needs. We will also determine if online therapy is a good option for you.
Initial intake session
During the first/initial session, we will review and sign initial paperwork. We will review and add to your family history, specific symptoms and presenting problems you are experiencing. From there, we will develop your goals for successful therapy.
Individual therapy sessions
At the end of the initial appointment, we will plan together how frequently you will schedule sessions. I do suggest we start with weekly sessions to begin with as we get to know each other. Research shows that our relationship is one of the biggest contributors to seeing change. I want to make sure you are set up for success. For EMDR therapy, I request weekly sessions while processing. We do not want any long lapses in therapy which could leave you feeling distressed. Once we meet the goals for your treatment plan related to EMDR, we can adjust the schedule as needed.
Out of Network Billing
As an out-of-network provider, I have partnered with Mentaya to help my clients save money on therapy. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and advertise an average of 60% reimbursement for out-of-network claims.
You may be eligible if your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits (PPO, POS, and HDHP plans). Unfortunately HMOs, Medicaid, and traditional Medicare plans do not have out-of-network benefits.
Call your insurance customer service number on the back of the card to inquire about out-of-network benefits.
Cancellation Policy
I kindly ask that cancellations be made 24 hours before your appointment. I generally have people waiting on a spot, and I have reserved this time for you. If an appointment is canceled in less than 24 hours, you are responsible for the full session fee.
